35% Platoon Leaders Class Candidates who choose PLC can maintain a normal college experience while they begin training. 24% Officer Candidate Course Candidates who choose OCC will complete Officer Candidates School in one summer, after graduation. 16% NROTC Candidates who choose the NROTC program are required to combine Naval Science courses with their normal college or university curriculum. 15% U.S. Naval Academy Candidates accepted to the U.S. Naval Academy gain the experience of attending a four-year military academy. 10% Enlisted to Officer Marines who show exceptional potential may want to expand upon their leadership opportunities by earning a commission.

Officers have several paths to earn their commission, the warrant that appoints them to the rank of second lieutenant. Whichever path they choose, they will be entrusted with leading Marines.

The path to earning your commission begins with your Officer Selection Officer (OSO), who will help you decide which path is right for you. Once you’ve completed training and earned your college degree, you’ll receive your commission as a second lieutenant.
